Wow! Am I ever bad at updating these things! We have events upcoming! If you are interested in getting involved in our Young Adult Ministry, there are several ways to do so. We have a class that meets at 9:30 on Sunday Mornings in the basement. We are studying Romans and Kevin Lombard is our teacher. We have a community group that meets at 2:30 on Sunday afternoons at the Cole's house (Ryan Ice and Chris Lang lead that). We have monthly events where we try to strengthen our relationships and seek to invite our friends and family to become involved.

*Cedar Point Trip- Saturday, August 18- Cost is only $16 for your ticket. We will leave from the bldg. at 6:00 A.M. and arrive home very,very late, or some might say very, very early in the morning.
*Church Picnic- Sunday, August 19-This is not just a YA event, but please come out and enjoy the fun at the Poole's house. We'll probably get a good game of volleyball going.
*YA Praise & Worship Night- Friday, August 31 - We will meet at the Student Center(where Holy Grounds is located) at 7:30 PM and spend the night singing, praying, and worshipping our Father together.
*YA Picnic at the Ice's- Saturday, September 8- Starting @ Noon- We will spend the day (Lord willing) outside enjoying a cookout, passing Frisbee, playing cornhole, and just enjoying each other's company. Great opportunity to invite a friend! There will be a sign-up sheet for items to bring in the Sunday Morning class.
*Girls' Breakfast @ Bob Evans- Saturday, September 15 @ 10 AM - Ladies meet at Bob Evans at 10 and enjoy Breakfast together. Sorry guys!
*Guys' Cornhole & Cards Night- Friday, September 21- 7:00 PM- Guys come to the Ice's to play Cornhole and card games. If you don't know what Cornhole is- get out from under the rock you've been hiding under and come find out! Just kidding!
*"The Game" Night- Friday, September 28- 7:00 PM- We will be watching a movie on the screen in the Student Center called "The Game" with Michael Douglas. Derek and I both love this movie and would like to share in the experience of watching this movie with you. Also, we will be playing games- board games, pool, air hockey, and fooseball.
*Girls Night- Friday October 12- Event info TBA
*Guys Breakfast @ Cracker Barrel- Saturday October 13- 10 AM- Guys lets eat a lot of food!
*YA Praise & Woship Night- Friday October 19- Refer to previous night like this.
Also we are looking into planning a corn maze trip and a camping trip. More info to come. If you actually read this please comment and just let me know! Thanks!

Mark your calendars! We will be having a Young Adult Winter Retreat on Feb. 9-10 at The Rippling Waters Campground in Romance, WV. This will be a great time to relax, fellowship, and to look at our spiritual gifts and how we can use them for God's kingdom. There will be a sign-up sheet for this event. We will be having a New Year's Eve Party starting at 7:00PM until sometime in 2007 at the GC Student Center(next to the church, where Holy Grounds meets). Please bring a snack food, 2-liter, and a game. We are just going to hang out, play some board games, pool, air hockey, and fooseball, and welcome the New Year enjoying each others' company. Hope to see you all there!

Christmas Shopping Trip
We are planning a trip to Columbus, OH to do some Christmas shopping at the Easton and Polaris Malls. The date of the trip is November 19th. Yes, we know that it is on a Sunday and we already made plans to attend a church in Westerville, OH. Robin Weir is a minister there and several past OVU students currently attend there. They also have a young adult ministry and they are planning on going with us and show us around, so that will be nice. We will have to leave pretty early to get to the service on time. I think we were looking at 7:15 AM at the latest, but that is not for certain. We are planning on carpooling or even taking the church bus if needed. Contact Ryan or Jessie if you have any questions. We hope everyone can go!!!

Guys' Night/Girls' Night
It's time to have the first Guys' Night/Girls' Night with the Young Adult Ministry! Read on to find out what we're doing!
Guys' Night
Guys will be going to Parkersburg High School this Friday, October 20 to watch the Big Reds play Cabell Midland High School. The game starts at 7:30. If you want to carpool to the game please meet at the Ice's by 6:45. Tickets will be purchased at the entrance gate for $5. Call Ryan @ (304)-580-1135 if you have any additional questions.

Girls will be going to Applebee's on Thursday, Oct. 26 for appetizers and/or desserts. We will meet at Applebee's @ 9:00 pm. Call Jessie @(304)-580-1136 if you have any additional questions! We would love for all the ladies to be able to come and begin building, strengthening, and renewing friendships.
We hope everyone will try to come to the Guys' Night/Girls' Night activities! If you have any ideas or suggestions for these activities, let Ryan or Jessie Ice know. Have a great day!

Launching our ministry
We have just begun a ministry at the Grand Central Church of Christ focused on reaching young adults. We had a picnic on October 8 at Ryan and Jessie Ice's to kick off the ministry. We had about 25 people which was a great way to start off. Yesterday we kicked off our Community Group at the Ice's. We have decided to move Community Groups back to 1:30 instead of 1:00 to allow more time for everyone to grab lunch. Change of Plans!!! Community Groups will meet at the Ice's again on Sunday, October 22 at 1:30. Please plan on coming for a time of fellowship and study. We look forward to seeing you there! Oh, and don't forget about Sunday Morning Young Adult Bible Class in the basement at GC. We have been studying Philippians with Kevin Lombard. We would love for you to come!!!
